6 Week Group Classes

Nosework $150 6 Weeks (Different Classes offered for Beginner and Advanced Dogs):

This class starts dogs in the sport of nosework. Nosework is a sport where dogs find and alert their owners to where qtips scented with essential oils are. In this class the dogs will be imprinted on the odor of birch oil and starting easy searches for birch. Later on once fluent in searching for birch dogs will also be imprinted on the other odors used in nosework competition. In our nosework class dogs advance at their own pace. Nosework isn’t just a class for those wanting to compete in sports. Nosework is something that can benefit pet dogs as it is good enrichment for them and works their brain and is something than can be done relatively easily with minimal equipment for owners (This class include a jar with a tin containing scented qtips). I have seen nosework do wonders for numerous dogs and I am a huge advocate for nosework for every dog. The benefits of nosework are substantial for all dogs.

Rally Obedience $150 6 Weeks:

Rally Obedience is a sport where you and your dog go through an obedience course with somewhere between 10-20 signs. Our rally obedience group class helps teach the behaviors needed for rally obedience and has explanations for how to read the signs seen in rally obedience. A prerequisite is dogs must be able to walk on a loose leash on a collar (flat, slip, prong etc).

Competition Obedience $150 6 Weeks:

Competition obedience is a sport where dogs are judged on how accurately they complete a set list of obedience behaviors. Novice obedience has on and off leash heeling, stand for exam, recall and sit and down stays. Open obedience has off leash heeling, command discrimination, drop on recall, retrieves on the flat and high jump, broad jump and a stand stay. Utility has signal exercises, scent articles (where the dog finds your odor and brings it back to you), directed retrieves, moving stand for exam and directed jumping.

Muzzle Conditioning and Vet Acclimation Drills $150 6 Weeks

This class covers how to select and size the correct muzzle for your dog and your needs. This class goes over how to condition your dog to wearing a muzzle. We feel that all dogs should be muzzle trained so they are comfortable if they have to be muzzled in an emergency. Note you will need to buy a muzzle for this class. Please wait until after first class session to order a muzzle! We will also be showing and acclimating dogs to the common ways vets hold dogs for exams, blood draws etc.
